“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your inner voice. Moreover, most important, dare to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary” – Steve Jobs

  • Cut Down With The Social Media

Studies have shown that too much time spent on Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram contributes greatly to lack of focus and motivation. Turn off the TV if it’s on, and think about progressive steps to grow your business. Before social media, people have more exciting and innovative ideas but today many talents get wasted as all they do is flip through social media pages.

So, if you wish to motivate yourself right now how about to list down all you wish to achieve this would help you create a good plan to go about them.

How to Grow an Engaged Instagram Audience

By | Business | No Comments

Instagram has surely grown beyond a basic picture/video sharing online community. The Instagram of today is a trendsetter and the perfect tool to connect to millions of potential customers and audience. You probably have been an ardent user of the popular interactive social media, but since we are on a path to help you grow your business, I’m going to share to you some tips on how to grow an engaged Instagram audience.

#. Always Know Your Audience

I found out you can only appeal to people’s interest when you offer what they are most likely to go for. What is the essence of boasting of large followers if you have no idea what their interests are? This, in turn, means posting catchy captions and photos are a waste as long as the audience has no interest in them.

There are many tools out there which helps you figure out what your Instagram audience are interested in, my favorite, however, is Iconosquare. Iconosquare is the perfect tool to monitor the online activity of your audience, stuffs like what photos/videos they liked, times at which they come online throughout the week and who had left the most comments on your posts. I would strongly recommend this tool as it helps you get in touch with the interests of your audience this way you know when they start getting disconnected with your content and in turn, you can re-strategize.

#. You Have To Really Connect With Your Audience

There is no better way to grow an engaged Instagram audience than to really “engage” with your audience on a personal level. You have to be ready and willing to listen and ask questions when necessary to get their opinion on issues and the business. A good way to go about this is to ask questions regarding people’s opinion about your brand regularly. Secondly, keep an open line of communication between your audiences and although it may seem difficult, try as much as possible to reply messages and clarify issues they come up with about your brand and services.

#. Be Exceptional

Instagram probably has over a million entrepreneurs and business accounts preaching exactly the same gospel you wish to share hence, you need to set yourself apart. Make an effort to ensure every content you post on Instagram contains something valuable your audience is yet to encounter before this way you give them a reason to come back.

I believe the easiest way to set your brand apart is through educative content. Ensure every post teaches something about your services, stuff like quick business tips or business guideline.

#. Use Hashtags and Create Challenges

Of course, we all know using hashtags strategically places your content in the hands of your desired audience. If you’re having problems remembering the hashtags you used previously, copy them out to a separate document so next time you wish to post you just copy and paste voila!

Creating fun challenges can go a long way to propel your brand, just imagine how far the Kiki challenge took Drake’s album, you too can create something similar.

Here’s how to Stop Caring about Things That Don’t Matter

By | Business | No Comments

Have you ever wondered how you could stop worrying about things that don’t matter? How to keep your thoughts centered only on worthwhile things? Do you know how much time is wasted on devoting time to irrelevancies? A whole lot! Moreover, the worst part of it all is you are always anxious, worried and end up not achieving much at the end of the day.

Very often we get distracted and wander off caring about things that don’t matter, and this makes it even harder to prioritize the things that matter. A dare consequence of this also is that you are often exhausted and skeptical always. When we stop caring about things like other people’s choices in life and success compared to ours, we experience inner peace and contentment like no other. To make it much easier to stop, I have compiled the best tips on how to stop caring about things that don’t matter.

  • Realize that people don’t always think you are that important

The problem with most sensitive people is they think no one can do without them, so they go all out solving everything they lay their hands on. Well, News flash the world will keep functioning with or without your input. Most times the things and people we feel matter have an opposite feeling about us.

Furthermore, it’s healthier to give more attention to things and people that would reciprocate the same actions. Most times, peoples don’t feel the same way we do about them, and to that effect, you might end up wasting your time on what doesn’t matter.

  •  Ask yourself, “What’s the worst thing that can happen if I don’t do this?”

Most times, the anticipation of the end product is all you need to know if it matters or not. When you analyze a situation critically before going onto it, you come to the realization of what side of the scale it falls to. Making hasty under judged decision could lead you to care about things that don’t matter.

  • Learn to say no

“No” is a very powerful and decisive tool if you wish to make better use of your time and stick with the right decisions. Saying no doesn’t make you a bad person, and it helps you prioritize your time.

Also, time is limited and to ensure you don’t waste any more of it; you need to say no to things that don’t matter and channel more energy and resources to things that do.

  • No one is perfect, including you

When you realize you are not perfect, you will cut down on the perfection obsession, and it cuts across every aspect of your life as well. The reason why you spend so much time on things that don’t matter is that you feel the need to make things perfect, and that could be time-consuming. You do not need to be perfect, let the perfection be you just the way you are.

The secret to not caring so much about things is to give everything equal attention, care and time.

Boost Confidence and Silence Your Inner Critic

By | Business | No Comments

Have you ever found yourself relishing the thoughts of all that could go wrong in your life? Or beating yourself up mentally over tasks you couldn’t meet up with, it happens to me, and I’m pretty sure it happens to everyone else. The human mind is a different world and entity of its own, it’s more likely to find faults and criticize rather than exalt us most times. What do you do when your mind gets to criticize you at every turn? How do you silence that tiny voice within constantly bringing you down? Well, let me tell you, there a million ways to take charge over your inner critic, once you learn these steps you can take full control of your life, boost your confidence and direct affairs better.

When it comes to developing genuine, long-term confidence, the trickiest challenge is dealing with self-doubt

  • Always remind yourself you’re the best

Negativity shrinks at the sight of constant reassurance that you are good. You keep telling yourself you are awesome and other good stuff and gradually you start to believe in yourself and see your self-confidence grow.

How do you remind yourself you are the best amidst the storm of self-doubt deterring you currently? I have a few tricks I would love to share. Firstly, write a short encouraging letter highlighting all your strengths and achievements and tuck it into your purse, whenever you find yourself in those negative times read this letter to yourself. Lastly, write and paste stick note around the house, and just like the first shower yourself with praises and encouragements on each sticker. The main idea is to get honest with yourself, it helps a lot.

  • Put in your best

Most times the negative critic talking inside your head is as a result of the task we are yet to carry out or hadn’t done properly. Just like an alarm clock, the mind tells you when the time is right to carry out a task to meet up with deadlines and when you fail to listen to this same inner voice returns as the inner criticisms we feel.

Your inner critic is overly judgemental but the right trick around it is to never give yourself ammo for the inner critic, and this can only be achieved when you get productive and timely with tasks you are supposed to do.

  • See the good in yourself and to a greater extent others

There’s a popular saying that “Bad conscience breeds negativity,” this means to free your soul of all ill thought about yourself and to a greater extent others. One may be surprised why you should bring your action to others into this, yeah well our mind is a reflection of how we treat others. For example, when you see a plus-sized lady walking down the alley, and you go, ’oh damn look how fat she is,’ your mind carries out a comparative analysis between you and this lady. Often the negative is the result, you find yourself thinking a lot about your body and size and soon that might lead to loss of self-confidence and insecurities.

  • Be conscious of your inner critic

It is often said that ‘what you know is what you can control’ our inner critic has more control over us better we usually can’t tell when we drift away. When you are aware of what you think you can quickly snap out of it and reassure yourself positively.

When you actively listen to your inner thoughts you discover most of your criticisms are fallacious and undeserves, you treat yourself better and focus on getting more productive.

5 Tips to Better Outsourcing in Your Business

By | Business | No Comments

Outsourcing is vital if your way to grow your business beyond what it currently is. It gives you the opportunity to concentrate on more relevant issues while trusting a capable hand to assist with other tasks. When I first started MiniMeCity, I was a bit skeptical about outsourcing, the perfectionist in me wanted to do literary everything! But when I figured out how to slow things were going, I had to call in a few capable hands.

Outsourcing is very important in every business if you want to grow. It not only gives you ample time to get on with other tasks, but it also gives room for the best result in the task you aren’t so perfect with. So let’s quickly take a rundown on tips to outsourcing better in your business.

  • Take the leap

Many startup business owners and entrepreneurs cringe at the thought of outsourcing. Yeah I get it, the business is so young, and you wouldn’t want an outside party, but no business survives without outsourcing. Quit asking questions such as, oh what if they don’t do it right? Can I really afford this? And isn’t it probably going to take ages to train them on the tasks? Take a leap.

To make it easier, make a video tutorial for training any new assistant you get. Secondly, outsource only tasks you have fewer interests in, write down a listof things you don’t like to do, and create an on and lastly, remind yourself you are always in charge.

  • Engage persons with similar ideas and ethics

It’s important you employ someone who has similar work ethics and values as you, that way your interests click. Also to make the process faster, find someone who is an expert in that field.

I outsource graphics design and other tasks not because I can’t do them, of course I’ve learnt them over time, but It allows me focus on other pressing issues and gives opportunity for an expert to handle it and do better job.

  • Have a clear and easy to follow guideline

You get the best results when your ideas are clearly explained. Don’t have an ambiguous guideline and process you will end up creating a huge confusion which may go a long way to slow down processes in the business.

Here’s what I do, I made a step by step pre-recorded video tutorial to guide any new assistant I employ. This way, the transition from an outgoing assistant to a new one isn’t so difficult. Hiring an assistant is a trial or error kind of stuff, it’s either you find the right person or not, so if you find the right person great! But if you didn’t then please keep searching.

  • Let go of perfectionism

Like I said earlier, let go of the feeling that nothing is right until you do it yourself, it slows you down and also the business as well. I constantly battle with perfectionism, so I wake up every morning and tell myself, “Today I’m letting go of my perfectionism.”  This way, I am constantly reminded to let go of seeing faults in what others do, not because they don’t have faults but so my business can grow. For example , you make a video and you keep editing and twisting it around you are stuck at a place but when you just make the video and put in your best in it the business moves faster.

You can grow your business beyond your dream if you can learn to let go of perfectionism.

  • Find a reliable virtual assistant service.

If you are thinking of hiring a VA, there are many reliable sources and at pocket-friendly rates. If you’re thinking now to take the leap and hire a VA, so you can be more efficient in your business, I highly recommending matchmaking services by Jhene Dickson, she’s a matchmaker for VA’s across America and Canada. There are other reliable services across Europe and the Philippines.

One thing I can assure you, outsourcing is a sure way to grow your business.

4 Things to Do When You Feel Like Giving Up

By | Business | No Comments

Often times we get so hurdled up with winning and success, and when it eventually gets too heavy to bear, we feel like giving up. Everyone has had their own fair share of life’s struggle, those trying times when everything just goes southwards or maybe things are on the right track, but you feel exhausted from it all. Don’t think for one moment that giving up is the next step to take.

Over the course of building my business and brand, I’ve been faced with a lot of challenges and setbacks. A major reason why I started business coaching is to not only teach young entrepreneurs how to start working towards their business ideas but also how to scale through the doubts they may encounter on their path to success. So here are the 4 things you should do when you feel like giving up.

  • Remember ‘Why’ you started

This is the best step to get back on track and refocus on your targets. Often times we find ourselves at the verge of quitting something we’ve put so much energy to start be it business or relationship, it happens at some point. Questioning yourself on your purpose with regards to the issue in question can go a long way to put your focus back on track. What do you want and why did you want it in the first place?

Sometimes we get so upset with a particular setback in the business, and at the climax of it all we just wish we could quit, but the truth is, as soon as you resolve not to let that setback pull you down, you find a solution to it.

  • Get inspired

More like renew your inspiration, because it’s obvious that at some point along the way, you lost it. It’s easy to figure out how to get re-inspired after you’ve sorted out step one. When we get inspired, we see what the outcome of our hard work should be and get to work towards them.

When I hit a stumbling block in my business and sometimes feel that I need to quit, there are few steps I take to renew my inspiration.

  • Revisit the lives of others who have achieved the same dream you are working towards.
  • Get in touch with online inspirational/ motivational quotes, or better still read a book.
  • Be grateful

A grateful heart is a happy heart, and a happy heart is a heart that’s not gonna quit. Form the habit of gratitude, every morning wake up in admiration of how far you have gotten so far. The human subconscious process not less than fifty to sixty thousand thoughts daily, most of which are negative and filled with doubts. However, daily gratitude is a perfect reverse mechanism to keep your mind on track.

  • Be persistent

A persistent business owner is always a winner. Just as Benjamin Franklin often says “Energy and persistence conquer all things.” A persistent business owner does not see quitting as an option, and you need to be that guy. You need to be the person who pushes on every day even though the world is falling apart. Never forget that “Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in” Bill Bradley.

3 Steps to Stop Wasting Time and Increase Your Productivity

By | Business | No Comments

Productivity is necessary for quick growth, be it in your business, career or family. However, what happens when you neglect the vital tasks you are meant to do, things start crumbling up, schedules are delayed, anxiety sets in, and ultimately your life takes a plunging dive.

Procrastination is the major cause of why most people are less productive. One minute you are ready and prepared to clear your daily tabs, then you procrastinate and that time is wasted.  Many factors contribute to why we procrastinate, and in turn waste our precious time, it could be one of the following factors;

  • Low energy levels

Studies have shown that people with less healthy lifestyles tend to possess a lower energy level. Factors such as sleep and exercise could contribute greatly to your level of productivity, and if you neglect them, you might lead a life full of procrastination.

  • Fear of failure

People tend to procrastinate when they fear they may fail in that task. Procrastinating for fear of failure constitutes a subjective failure but what happens when the actual failure sets in.

  • Lack of understanding

It’s easier to procrastinate performing a task you don’t understand, or so you think. Procrastinating such difficult tasks only contributes to wasting more time; it’s best to learn about ways around it or calling a professional.

The Three Key Steps to More Productivity

If you discover you lose ample time procrastinating or doing unnecessary stuff, these three vital tips will help you kick back into action.

  1. Identify what wastes most of your time

You can only deal with what you know. Identify those instances when you delay in performing a task and devise a way to eliminate them. Do you spend too much time on social media or being too helpful to coworkers or colleagues? These things deter you from handling tasks on your to-do list, and as such you need to figure out how to curb them.

  • Start with the hardest task

To avoid giving up and wasting time, always start with the hardest tasks on your list then work your way down to the easiest. Always have a determined and positive mindset towards difficult tasks, and this starts right after you wake up.

As soon as you get up in the morning, the ideal step is to get on with your morning chores and breakfast before 9 am. Take a refreshing cup of coffee to keep you active then proceed to carry on with your daily task. However, the real trick is Start doing it within 20 minutes of waking up; that’s when your senses are more active.

  • Create goals and assign them deadlines

The third and most important tip to stop wasting your time is to create goals with allotted time to reach them. Setting up goals is a huge source of motivation, and when you’re motivated, you are certainly bound to get more productive. Deadline is the mental finish lines we set for a particular task. Without deadlines, there is no restriction to the time you spend completing a task.

In conclusion, productivity is greatly dependent upon hard work and determination, and with the right time spent, you are bound to achieve your aims. Watch this video to learn more about how you can stop wasting your time.

3 Steps to Stop Negative Thinking In Its Tracks

By | Business | No Comments

It happens to everyone at some point, and it’s totally normal because our mind has a greater tendency to doubt faster than it believes. Negative thinking is the inner doubt associated with the human character. If you occasionally find yourself doubting your abilities, thinking of worse case scenarios and losing faith in yourself, don’t worry it’s just negative thinking, and I’m going to give you the three best steps to stop it.

Negative thinking is every inch part of every human, and it would be mentally imbalanced not to experience such. Hence, expect that from time to time, negative thoughts shall creep into your mind. Most times, negative thoughts help us see things and situation from a proper perspective and neutrality. But for some people, negative thoughts means more difficulty in making decisions, choosing relationships, work productivity, and cultivating a sense of peace within. Consequentially, negative thoughts become destructive. When this happens, the thoughts become obsessive, and at this point, it’s time to stop, think, and evaluate.

Not knowing how to go about your negative thoughts could be very dangerous to you and those around you. Here are some adverse effects of thinking negatively always.

  • You become an ardent complainer
  • You feel hopeless most of the time
  • You think everyone is against you or out to pull you down
  • You can never see the bright side of things
  • You are always trapped in your head thinking the worse

I’m pretty sure you don’t want to live your life defined by any of the characters mentioned above, so here are three step to help you deal with negative thinking.

  1. Identify your triggers

Lisa Firestone, a clinical psychology aggress that the best way to fight negative thoughts is by identifying what triggers your negative thinking and self-doubt. Is a certain person? Making public speeches? Starting something new? As soon as you study and understand your triggers, you’ll feel much better and secure.

2. Stay away from negative people

Negativity thinking is a character which can be passed on from an individual to another. According to a 2013 study published in Clinical Psychological Science, negative-thinking can actually rub off on other people. In turn, spending quality time with positive thinking people can, in turn, boost your level of self-confidence and help foster your own positivity. It’s all up to you to choose your friends wisely

3. Don’t suppress your feelings

Trying to fight out negative thoughts could make it worse. Often people tend to think more about things they decide not to think about. As soon as you say to yourself, “I don’t think about this new job promotion,” that’s all you’ll find yourself doing. The best approach is to let it come and go away naturally.

To sum it up, work, relationships, and others can push you to a negative mental situation, but as soon as you learn how to snap out of it and appreciate your life experiences, you’ll be much happier, healthier and ready to deal with anything.

In this video I’m going to be covering how to host and make money from Airbnb experiences by monetizing your passion , your  hobby or the simple activity that you do daily.

I want to also give you tips on how to make it the best experience ever with 5 star review, so that your Airbnb experience would always be fully booked.

So if you’re a photographer an artist a chef, a yoga instructor or just a local who loves their city and you want to share your experience with tourists coming to your area and make money doing so. Then this video is for you!

I’m talking about potentially starting your own business with zero upfront cost doing something you absolutely love.

So I just booked my first Airbnb experience in Paris and I was blown away. So the experience was a combination of a private photo shoot and having your own touristic guide walk around the city with you. Our host was not only an amazing photographer; because I loved every single photo he took of us but he was very informative and took us to the hidden gems in Paris that only locals know about.

So without further due let me share my screen and show you how to host your first experience on Airbnb.

Video Transcription

What you want to go ahead and do is click on the link that I left you under the YouTube video (Click here So find the link, click on it and this page is going to open up for.

So here you are going to find more about Airbnb experiences. So basically how you can share your passion with the world meeting interesting people and how you host on your own terms.

So basically you have your own calendar and this way you can open up certain days during the week. So let’s say you have a full-time job and want to do this as a side hustle, so what you are going to do is you’re going to just open up certain days on your calendar;whenever you’re available so that people can book with you the experience.

Over here they are talking about starting a business with no upfront cost. like I mentioned before this is amazing. Airbnb is doing all the marketing for you and all you have to do is put yourself out there, put your passion, put whatever you love out there to the world and share experiences with the world. Share experiences with other people, other tourist coming to your area so technically there’s no upfront cost that you need to pay.

Alright so lets move ahead so basically here you have so many different people sharing so many different passions. You can read more about them to get inspired or maybe to get an idea of what you can offer in your city, in your local area. The best thing about it as I mentioned is you are monetizing your passion. So whatever your love you’re making money from it. You can do it full-time if you wish but you can also do it as a side hustle.

So let’s get started so we’re gonna click on let’s go. Basically what you’re going to go ahead and do is you’re going to fill out the information about your Airbnb experience and it’s going to be reviewed by Airbnb. So once it’s approved you’re up it’s running and you can start getting bookings.

So you are going to click on next. So here you are going to learn the overall process and what is the expectations of Airbnb, how to create an amazing experience by adding wonderful photo’s, descriptions telling them all the details about your experience and what you have to offer. That’s gonna be reviewed by Airbnb and then you’re just simply going to submit it. Once it’s approved your going to have your Airbnb page ready up running and people can start booking the experience with you.

I want to go now through couple of examples of what kind of experiences people are actually hosting all over the world. So that I can inspire you and get you thinking about what kind of experience you can host. So we’re going to start off with this must have LA picture in Los Angeles. It says here it’s a 3 1/2 hour total, transportation is included, it’s offered in English and more than 2350 people have booked it. As you see here more than 1000 people have left them almost a five star review which is amazing. So here you are going to be able to learn more about your host and what you’ll do during this experience. This is the place to put all the information about what you’re experience includes so there will be no surprises to anyone booking your experience
Here you can list out what else you need to know about this experience, what you will be providing during this experience. So here they are including free transportation and here they are listing out what to bring during this experience.

Another thing that is super important is to include are beautiful images of your experience or a mini video if you can. This will give the people visiting your page an idea of how it feels to be on your experience, what to expect. So try to add images with people in action during your experience maybe for the first time you want to test it out with your friends and let them know that you’re gonna be taking photos so that you can add it on your Airbnb experience page.

This way again you have something concrete that you can work with, so it will be easier for you to convey people to go ahead and book your experience. Here you’re going to find all the guest reviews and what they have to say about this experience. So as you see here this is the upcoming availability, and if we do the simple math at $68 let’s assume that they were charging $68 from the beginning from when they first started and 2350 people have booked their experience we are talking that this experience have brought in more than $150,000 which makes it amazing. Now one thing to keep in mind that Airbnb does have a fee so that is 20% off whatever you are charging .So you want to keep that in mind when you are listing your price.

I suggest also at the beginning you put a low price so that you can get a couple of bookings and then you can increase your price as build more reviews. This way people would be more excited when they see a couple of reviews on your page and they will be more excited to book with you. That’s about it for this experience let’s move ahead.

Here’s another experience which I found very interesting. It’s a boat ride in Amsterdam so it’s a two hour total and more than 5450 people have booked it. Here’s another experience hosted in Florence and it’s all about organic wines. Here’s another one which is hosted in greater London and it is a jazz club, it’s basically an intimate concert.
Here’s another one which is a museum visit but this guy is a comedian and he made it a lot of fun to go and visit a museum in Paris. Here’s another experience that I found  super interesting, it is hosted in Tokyo which is a cooking class so it says here it’s from market to meal. So she actually takes you to the market and she shows you what kind of ingredients you need to buy in order to create that meal and then she takes you to the studio where she teaches you how to cook that meal.

So I hope I was able to inspire you to go ahead and host your first experience on Airbnb.

But remember to be successful on Airbnb experiences you need to focus on getting amazing reviews. So make sure you giving people booking with you an overall amazing experience.

I mentioned a couple of ways that you can actually do so previously but 1 more thing you can actually do is offer a surprise element to the experience itself, so maybe offer them a free Coffee on the way or something small that they didn’t expect and it wasn’t mentioned on your page. I’m sure many would appreciate it, which would give you a better chance getting a five star review.

And don’t forget to ask them for a review once your experience is over and
If they didn’t do so in a week or so just make sure you follow up with them.

Thank you so much for watching this video please let me in the comments below if you are you excited to host your first experience on Airbnb and if you end up doing that please come back to this video and leave me a comment below as I would love to learn more about the experience you hosted.
